One of 400 animals came to the opening in the Cabriolet traveled. The weather was radiating and William Pieck, first and only president of the GDR, in a good mood. In the open car it had a lion baby on its lap Sonja. It was 2 July 1955, when the Tierpark in Friedrichsfelde was opened.
